Company Introduction  

This is a brief letter intended to give you the history of Glass America / Performance Glass. The company was started in South Florida in 1996 by Lyle Hill. Mr. Hill has been president of MTH Industries since 1980. MTH Industries is based in Chicago, IL. and is one of the largest contract glazing companies in the United States today.

While MTH Industries is based in Chicago, Glass America / Performance Glass is operated and managed by experienced local personnel. Our company targets a small client base, which expects top quality products and installations and realizes that those items are not typically provided by the lowest bidder. We accomplish theses tasks by, first, selecting the finest quality impact resistant manufacturers and products on the market. We also have our own Miami Dade County Product Approved large missile fixed window impact resistant system that we install primarily on commercial projects.

Secondly, and even more importantly, our field crews and project managers possess both the experience required to perform installations of the highest quality and the knowledge to examine all surround conditions of the window or door openings that may be a possible source of water infiltration in the future.
All of our installers are required to attend and complete installation-training programs when offered by a particular manufacturer, to insure that the end product is installed per that manufacturer’s standards. All field crews are supervised by superintendents who have a minimum of 10 years of experience in the South Florida market.

Furthermore, our upper management staff has a combined 75 years of experience in the South Florida construction field specializing in glazing, hurricane protection and retrofits, and water infiltration testing and detection.
